Scholarship Interests

  • Stability of Waves and Dynamical Systems. I study the spectral and nonlinear stability of periodic and traveling wave solutions to PDEs — viscous conservation laws, nonlinear Schrödinger equations, and related systems — using tools like the Evans function and Bloch-wave spectral analysis.
  • Modeling Infectious Disease. I develop and analyze compartmental and vector-host models for disease spread, with recent work on plant viruses (cassava mosaic disease, plant-virus-vector coinfections) and on Ebola transmission dynamics.
  • Teaching and Learning Excellence. I work on course transformation and evidence-based teaching practices, including through KU's Center for Teaching Excellence and national programs like TRESTLE.
